Sadie Moss Jones and Megan O’Connor are in practice together as Beacon Midwives, offering home birth services, well-woman gynecology, functional medicine, and therapeutic massage in Beacon, New York.
Beacon Midwives nurtures a relationship of trust and support with each of our clients in a way that only a small practice can. We work as a team to bring caring, quality attention to each person we serve, supporting them in being fully informed and empowered in their care. We know that ample time in each appointment is critical to achieving this, as well as the opportunity to develop a relationship with each member of the practice. We hold our clients as whole people, addressing at every step the physical, emotional, practical, and spiritual aspects of their journeys.
Our services include homebirth, GYN care, functional medicine, and bodywork for women. We serve clients in a one-hour radius of Beacon, NY.
Sadie Moss Jones, CNM
Sadie has been attending births since the late 1990′s and became licensed and certified as a midwife in 2002. She is deeply invested in a holistic approach to wellness, has studied herbalism and nutrition extensively, and also works as a functional medicine practitioner. Sadie enjoys the relationship that unfolds with the families she works with as she accompanies them on their journey towards birth and parenting.
Sadie is a loving mother of two children. She has worked as a midwife at Bellevue Hospital, Gouverneur Healthcare Services, and with an OB/GYN group in Brooklyn. She received a Bachelor’s in Nursing from Columbia University and a Master’s in Midwifery from SUNY Downstate’s Midwifery Education Program. Prior to midwifery, Sadie obtained a Bachelor’s in Biology and Ecology from the University of Maryland.
Megan O’Connor, CM
Megan has had a lifelong interest in women’s health, and is grateful to support women by offering care throughout the childbearing year, as well as the changes of adolescent, reproductive, and perimenopausal years. She has a long background in organizing and educating around reproductive self-care, and has worked for over ten years as a massage therapist specializing in both deep tissue and gentle touch methods to address musculoskeletal and women’s health issues including prenatal and postpartum discomforts and pelvic pain and dysfunction.
Megan is the proud mother of a teenager. She graduated with a Masters Degree in Midwifery from Philadelphia University in 2014, and graduated from the Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences with a license to practice massage therapy in 2003.
